Mark 1:14b-15: “Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. ‘The time has come,’ he said. ‘The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!’”
We need heroes. They inspire and encourage us to transform ourselves for the better. This week, we will look at some biblical heroes and how their stories can help us in sharing the Gospel.
Our first Hero of the faith is the Greatest Hero of all time: Jesus Christ. His public ministry began when he started calling people to turn from sin and come to God. Jesus didn’t just proclaim the message: He lived it and died for it. Jesus invited others (the disciples) along with him to share the Gospel and He also invites us to do the same. We may feel overwhelmed when we think, “I’m called to be like Jesus!” Remember, God doesn’t call the equipped; he equips the called!
He empowers us with the very same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. He gets all the glory when ordinary people like us are empowered to be faithful witnesses of His goodness and His Kingdom. We can be like our hero, Jesus, when we share the hope of the Gospel. let’s step out in faith and proclaim the Good News today!
