John 7:11-13 “The Jews were looking for him at the feast and saying, “Where is he?” And there was much muttering about him among the people. While some said, “He is a good man,” others said, “No, he is leading the people astray.” Yet for fear of the Jews no one spoke openly of him.”
Day 5, LET’S GO! We have been so encouraged to hear reports from all around the world about people’s lives being rocked by the goodness of God! Everyone can reach someone, and together we can reach the world. This week we are continuing to talk about barriers that may be keeping us from reaching the world around us with the message of hope that we have found in Jesus.
Today we are going to challenge you to rise above the fear of man.
Many people are looking for Jesus. They might not know that they are specifically looking for Him, but they are yearning for something. They are desperate for hope, financial freedom, better relationships, answers, purpose for their life, the list goes on. Whatever their need may be, they are searching. Especially in this pandemic season, people are asking deep spiritual questions and are very open to talk about God. We have seen an increased hunger in people to understand the Gospel and God’s heart in the midst of this time, but how can we reach people if we allow the fear of man to remain a barrier in our lives?
It’s been said that fear of man can be one of the greatest evangelism road blocks, which is so unfortunate because it is a false assumption that people don’t want to hear about God. The truth is that a relationship with God is what every human is longing for.
So, then, what do we do? Well, you may already know the first step: repent of fear of man. Second, declare God’s truth over fear! Memorize those scriptures. Third, resolve not to let fear of man steal your joy and let it rob others from having their lives changed by the message of hope that you carry! It’s GO TIME. Today is the day you take a stand against the fear of man controlling your life.
Thank the Lord for calling you and being with you. Confess any lack of trust, ask him to break any barriers in your heart and to give you the courage to obey His loving call ( See Matthew 28:18-20). Pray for your FIVE.
Do you know anyone who has had their security shaken? Do you know any restaurant workers or small business owners? How can you help them and care for them authentically? Make time today to show them you care by sending a message or a small gift.
